On Friendship: An Exhibition of Portraits by Children

Saturday, April 27

5 – 9 pm

Alley at Broadway & Renfrew (behind Mr. Sub)

On Friendship: An Exhibition of Portraits by ChildrenĀ is curated by Amelia Guimarin in conjunction with the Capture Photography Festival and Back Alley Gallery Project.

Guimarin led children from the Frog Hollow Nootka School Age Care program in a series of photography workshops. These workshops culminated with the children creating portraits of each other.

This exhibition aims to explore how children perceive and relate to each other through the medium of photography and features one portrait from each child. Children have been paired so that each child has the opportunity to act as both subject and photographer. This public reception in a residential back alley shares their work with their families, friends, and the general public in a celebration that includes a community potluck.

Everyone is welcome! Please come celebrate art and community with us!

This event is part of the 2019 Capture Photography Festival Event Program

This project is supported by a London Drugs Printing Grant.
